Three U.S. Students Arrested in Cairo

Reports (now confirmed) indicate that three U.S. students studying in Cairo have been arrested and charged with throwing Molotov cocktails from atop the American University Cairo building near Tahrir Square and for not carrying passports. The three students are from Georgetown University, Drexel University and Indiana University. More at:

  1. The videos are informative and promote further thought processing. For instance are there protocols which students should consider when working or studying abroad...should students carry passports at all times, are there any warning signs of instability within countries that have seemingly been stable? Are there any survival/safety strategies which should be given to all students?
