Study abroad programs are an excellent opportunity for students to obtain a better understanding of diverse cultures. Unfortunately many students in the U.S. study abroad for only 1 to 2 academic semesters, whereas foreign students study in the U.S. to achieve a degree. As educators in the U.S. we must instill in our students the desire to study abroad for longer periods.
