Last month the Province of British Columbia, Canada
announced their new International Education Strategy and today the BC Council for International Education (BCCIE) officially launches a new website
StudyinBC.com which provides a unique glimpse of what it means to study in British Columbia and gives international students a platform on which to share their
experiences. The site features content
from student bloggers, photographers and videographers who will document their
study in British Columbia experience and share it with others considering the same path. The focus of the site is not specific to
post-secondary studies and provides a wealth of information on K-12 education
in the Province for those who want to study
I was able to look through StudyinBC.com this past week and
found it to be an excellent resource for prospective students. The website was very user friendly and it provided
a wealth of information on studying in BC.
Check it out for yourself!
I have been a huge fan of the international education efforts of

Thanks for sharing this, David. Great to see!
ReplyDeleteThanks David for checking out StudyinBC.com and for the write-up. We truly appreciate your support and value your feedback. Cheers, Robin Garcha, StudyinBC.com
ReplyDeleteIt actually looks really good, and you don’t get that a lot, sadly, with information for prospective students in any field, not just international education. I know my college’s website is about as intuitive for the new student as the Large Hadron Collider would be to a preschooler.

DeleteI will let you know that I really enjoyed your blog on StudyinBC.com. I really felt a sense of security with wanting to study out of British Columbia. As I am a citizen of the United States and a Graduate Student as well, I feel going to BC to run a Doctorate will be in my near future! I visited the site and they really do aid prospective students. Maybe BC should venture out to Universities would wide and teach them a thing or two on Hospitality, Ethics, Values, and Diversity. I feel as you may agree, there are a lot of higher education institutions here in the USA that will not help or go the extra mile for the International Student.
Now David, Do a lot of Universities in this providence offer education Online? I am currently finishing a online Program on Global Higher Education and I am wondering in your research if there is schools that focus with online and what your recommendations would be?
@Cory ~ Thanks for your comment. Good question about online program offerings in British Columbia. I must admit that I'm not too familiar with online program offerings other than those focusing on international education and I am not aware of any of those types of programs in BC. Best, David
